Privacy policy
Makins LLC operates FOXIC. This policy describes the information used to provide messaging, calls, and support.
Information you provide
We use your email address to sign you in and manage your account. Your profile may include a name, FOXIC ID, photo, biography, and date of birth. We also store the contacts you add in FOXIC, their names or notes, your privacy preferences, and users you block.
When you send a message, we process its contents and attachments, including photos, videos, voice messages, files, or location and contact cards you choose to share. These details may reveal personal information about you or other people.
Ordinary and secret chats
Ordinary chats and FOXIC Support are stored on the server. Their contents are accessible to the service to deliver messages, synchronize history, search, and handle support requests.
Secret-chat contents are end-to-end encrypted on the original devices. The service receives encrypted contents and still processes delivery information such as participants, devices, and timestamps. Secret chats do not restore onto a new device from the cloud.
Secret chats have automatic deletion rules, including deletion after reading. Removing a server record and physically removing its attachment are separate steps; attachment cleanup runs asynchronously. Your recipient may have made their own copy.
Devices, calls, and delivery
We process account and device identifiers, public device keys, sessions, notification tokens, activity and presence preferences, read and delivery information, and call participants, time, and status. These records let us connect calls, route messages and notifications, and protect access to your account.
Why we use this information
We use information to operate FOXIC, authenticate accounts, deliver and synchronize conversations, connect calls, respond to support requests, apply your settings, and diagnose delivery or service errors. Technical records can include request identifiers, response status, timing, and account or device references.
Service infrastructure
FOXIC uses Supabase components for authentication, storage, and database services, Apple Push Notification service for notifications, Resend for account email, and LiveKit for calls. Infrastructure and delivery providers process information needed for their role and may keep their own operational records. Contact us with questions about providers or where information is processed.
Retention and account deletion
You can request account deletion in your profile settings in FOXIC. For help with deletion or access to your information, email [email protected].
Account deletion removes your sign-in account and active profile. It also removes your secret chats, device and notification registrations, call history, and encrypted account backup. Your avatar and secret-chat attachments are queued for physical cleanup.
Delivered ordinary messages and attachments remain in your recipients’ history. They are displayed with a deleted-account label. Internal references connected to that shared history can remain. Deleting your account does not erase copies other people have already saved.
Operational logs, deletion records, and backup copies may remain after account deletion. Their retention varies by record and infrastructure provider. Contact support for information about retention, deletion, or a specific request.
